How ECU remapping works on a diesel Suzuki Grand Vitara
The gains from remapping a diesel come from the engine management software rather than new parts: injection, boost and torque limits are re-mapped, which is why torque improves most and why the car often feels easier to drive at lower revs.
How the Suzuki Grand VItara 1.9 DCI compares
Ranked by power gain against the other diesel Grand Vitara engines (2 in total), the 1.9 DCI is 1st, 2 bhp above the Grand Vitara diesel average of 33 bhp.
